CRETE, GREECE – BEAUTIFUL BEACHES TO VISIT
CRETE , GREECE – TOURIST OBJECTIVE
Greece is famous for its splendid beaches – swimming in the crystal clear waters surrounded by the beautiful Aegean colors will make anyone feel like in paradise.
Crete, in particular, has some of the most stunning beaches in all of Greece – from small bays, long white sand, fine lagoons, lagoons and inlets with shallow waters that lead to deserted islands and soft pink sand.
FALASSARNA BEACH – WIDE STRETCH OF GOLDEN SAND, MAJESTIC, WILD AND FREE
Great and fine golden sand – magnificent beach Falasarna is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Crete.
Fortunately, it has not been overtaken by tourism and still feels quiet on a fairly stretched surface. It is situated at the western tip of Crete, and can be reached here on a day trip through Chania.
The view from the top of the cliff is amazing – you will experience a sense of freedom rarely encountered, that’s why very many people choose to go here.
There is a very wide beach with an extraordinary breeze, which is why the escape in this area is ideal on a hot day. The sea is changing depending on the sun and the wind.
Most of the time water is calm, a soft green turquoise color. But when the wind takes the brake, the waves become very large, giving it a special drama.
Falasarna is a short drive from Chania city by car, here you will find sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach, as well as some taverns that offer homemade food and cold drinks.
STAVROS BEACH – A QUIET LITTLE BAY WITH STUNNING COLORS, LOCALS CHOICE
Not many tourists know about Stavros beach – it is a bit lateral and is not populated by tourists in particular, just like the other beaches on Crete Island.
This beach has the charm and beauty of a perfect day on the beach on a sunbed. The beach is located on a small circular bay with very calm, wind-protected waters, at the foot of a mountain and near a picturesque harbor.
The lagoon’s bay has white sand and shallow green water, and the contrast of the wild mountain with the quiet beach makes Stavros a favorite swimming pool with Greeks and a handful of tourists.
The beach tends to be very quiet during the week but can become more crowded at the end of the week because it is a popular choice for locals.
There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas for everyone, there are a number of taverns and a beach cafeteria for a snack.
ELAFONISI BEACH – A PINK SANDY BEACH WITH CLEAR, SHALLOW WATER OVER A BEAUTIFUL ISLAND
Each guide to Crete will mention the beautiful beach of Elafonisi – and rightly so, it is not like any other beach in Greece! The beach has clear and blue water that reminds of the Caribbean but with pink sand.
Another unusual feature is very shallow water between the beach and the island – you can literally walk on the water. Elafonisi is located on the southwest coast of Crete, the road up there is very picturesque, even if it is a bit long and windy, but worth it, with many cultural things to see along the way, including a monastery.
There are several places to eat on the beach, and you can spend a day on a sunbed reading a book and admiring the beautiful scenery. A small slice of Heaven in southern Crete!
BALOS BEACH – PRIMITIVE BEAUTY, DESERT ISLAND FEELING AND A BOAT TRIP IN PARADISE
The natural beauty of Balos Beach makes you feel like you have landed on a deserted island in the midst of desertification, surrounded by flora and fauna and swimming.
It is ideal for beach and snorkeling, with soft white sand, light green water, framed by dramatic islands and mountains. The sea near the shore is windy, very shallow and warm, ideal for small children, in many places the sand has a beautiful pink color similar to Elafonissi beach.
A little further, the water is deeper and refreshing, perfect for snorkeling.
